According to the police report, a 31-year-old student who was training and pursuing PG studies at RG Kar Medical Hospital was raped and then killed inside a seminar hall of the institute. The body of the student remained in the same condition till morning. After investigation, the police have arrested a person named Sanjay Roy, who has accepted his crime.
The postmortem report handed over to the victim’s family by Kolkata Police on Monday revealed that the victim was killed after a lot of torture. There were many injury marks on the body. Injuries were also found on her body and eyes due to glass pieces of spectacles. According to the report, the injuries on the private parts of the victim and other injuries are antemortem injuries. That is, the accused gave these injuries to the victim when she was alive. The injuries on the private parts indicated that the victim was raped. After brutally beating and sexually assaulting her, the accused killed the victim by strangulating her throat and mouth. According to the report, the time of murder is estimated to be between 3 am and 5 am on Friday morning.
According to the police, after committing the rape and murder, the accused went to his house, where he washed his clothes to destroy evidence. When the police searched his house, they found blood stains on his shoes. The police succeeded in catching the accused quickly with the help of an earbud found at the crime scene.
