Influenced by the Chhattisgarh government’s “Chhattisgarh Naxalism Eradication and Rehabilitation Policy” and “Niyad Nella Nar” scheme and the increasing influence of the police, the red terrorists are surrendering. 11 Naxalites have surrendered in Sukma district. Five of them are women. The government has announced a reward of Rs. 1 lakh on a surrendered female Naxalite as per her rank.

DRG Sukma, Range Field Team DIG Office Konta (RFT) and Intelligence Branch of 02, 50, 219, 228 Battalion CRPF have made special efforts to encourage the Naxalites to surrender.

These Naxalites surrendered
Naxal women Madkam Deve, Madvi Sanna, Vetti Bhima, Vekko Aayata surrendered without weapons. They surrendered before Amritesh Kumar, Second Command Officer, 50 Battalion CRPF and Inspector Roshan Singh Rajput, Incharge Naxal Cell Sukma. Women Sodi Bhima, Podiyam Hunga, women Madkam Sukki, women Oyam Jogi, Dudhi Handa, women Padam Kosi surrendered without weapons before Manish Ratre, Deputy Superintendent of Police Naxal Ops Sukma and Inspector Sureshpal Singh, 02 battalion CRPF. Naxal member Madkami Budhu alias Budhu Yadav also surrendered.

He has been involved in many Naxalite incidents
Confirming the matter, Sukma SP Kiran Chauhan said that all the above members have joined the banned Naxalite organization and are involved in various Naxalite activities like attacking the police patrol party after doing recce, putting spikes on the routes used by the police party, digging and blocking the main roads, putting up Naxalite pamphlets against the government and administration, etc.

Sodhi Bhim left the Naxalites: Female Maoist Sodhi Bhime is also among those who surrendered. Sodhi Bhime was active as a member of Golapalli LOS. The government had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh on Bhime. The Naxalites who surrendered include Madkam Deve, Madvi Sanna, Vetti Bhima, Vekko Aayata, Podiyam Hunga, Madkam Sukki, Oyam Jogi, Dudhi Handa, Padam Kosi and Madkami Budhu. All the Naxalites were posted on different posts in different areas in the Naxal organization. All the Maoists will soon be given financial assistance and other facilities by the government under the Naxalism Eradication Policy.

Three Maoists surrendered in Bijapur: During the anti-naxal operation being conducted in Bijapur district, three Maoists surrendered. All the Maoists surrendered in front of Bijapur SP Jitendra Kumar Yadav. The surrendered Naxalites are impressed by the new rehabilitation policy of the government. Ramesh Farsa is also among those who surrendered. The government had placed a reward of eight lakhs on Farsa. Farsa has been a member of platoon number one in PLGA company number two. There was also a reward of eight lakhs on Naxalite Manki Madvi alias Sarita.

‘There is discrimination in the Naxalite organization’: All the Naxalites have been involved in carrying out Maoist activities for a long time. The surrendered Maoists said that they were unhappy due to the neglect and discrimination in the organization. They were also troubled by the atrocities being committed by the Naxalites on the common people. Impressed by the government’s rehabilitation policy, they surrendered.
