Deputy Chief Minister and Urban Administration and Development Minister Shri Arun Saw reviewed the works by holding a meeting of senior departmental officers at Vishram Bhawan in Nava Raipur. He instructed to ensure payment of salaries to employees in all urban bodies before Diwali. He asked the Ministry, Directorate and SUDA team of Urban Administration and Development Department to work in a timely manner with better coordination and avoid delays. He said that all the works should be visible on the ground with full quality within the stipulated time frame. Dr. Basavaraju S., Secretary, Urban Administration Department. And Joint Secretary Dr. Renuka Srivastava also attended the review meeting.
Taking information about the updated status of development works in urban bodies, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao laid emphasis on time bound implementation. He gave instructions to finalize the action plan for the implementation of the warehouse scheme. Keeping in mind environmental protection, he was asked to prepare a comprehensive action plan to increase the green cover and submit a proposal. He gave instructions to allocate funds for this under the state sponsored scheme. He also asked to appoint nodal officers at the state level for its effective monitoring.
The pending electricity bills of urban bodies were reviewed in the review meeting. Taking information about the updated status of energy bill audit, Shri Sao stressed on the prompt implementation of the suggestions received. He directed to organize special training sessions for CMOs, accountants and engineers of civic bodies to prevent financial loss due to surcharge and additional load. In the meeting, Mr. Sao asked the newly formed urban bodies to submit an action plan to get the work done by accepting funds from infrastructure items, octroi tax or other sources for necessary basic facilities. He instructed to immediately provide necessary financial assistance to the new bodies.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Sao also reviewed the progress of Nalanda Complexes, Atal Complexes and other schemes included in the budget. He said that the government is providing ample funds to the urban bodies for all-round development, hence all the officers should ensure prompt implementation of the schemes, so that the citizens can get their benefits quickly.
In the meeting, there was also a detailed discussion on promotion of officers and employees of urban bodies, recruitment on vacant posts, classification and set-up revision. Instructions were given to take necessary action in coordination with the Finance Department for the recruitment of Sub Engineers. While reviewing the progress of water supply schemes and STP construction of 21 urban bodies approved in the current financial year 2025-26, Shri Sao asked to complete the DPR and RFP work soon. He reviewed the ongoing works under Mission Amrit 2.0 body-wise and gave instructions through district collectors to remove the obstacles in construction and complete the work within the time limit.
The Deputy Chief Minister gave instructions to audit the movable and immovable property, machinery, vehicles etc. of the urban bodies and review the updated situation. He asked to take necessary action for the smooth operation of business premises and shops as per the rules. He directed to allocate funds from the state-promoted scheme of SUDA for the construction of cremation shed, waiting room, drinking water, guard room, boundary wall etc. to equip the Muktidhams with proper facilities. State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) CEO Mr. Shashank Pandey, Additional CEO Mr. Dushyant Kumar Raist, Deputy Secretary Dr. Ritu Verma, Additional Director Mr. Pulak Bhattacharya and Chief Engineer Mr. Rajesh Sharma were also present in the review meeting.
