Jewelery shop theft revealed: Two arrested including minor mastermind, jewelery worth lakhs recovered

The police has revealed the jewelery shop theft that took place in Chhuikhadan of Khairagarh district on the intervening night of 8th and 9th October. Police arrested a minor mastermind and his associate involved in the crime and recovered silver jewelery worth about Rs 6 lakh from their possession.

This case pertains to Sony Jewelers and Electronics shop located in the main square of the city, where unknown thieves broke the lock and stole the jewelery kept in the shop. Shop operator Parmeshwar Ram Soni had lodged a report in this regard.

Additional Superintendent of Police Nitesh Gautam said that as soon as the complaint was received, a special police team was formed. The team examined CCTV footage of the incident site and surrounding areas, on the basis of which the suspects were identified. During interrogation, both the accused confessed to the theft.

The arrested accused include Prahlad Nishad alias Dadu (35 years), resident of Kandrapara Chhuikhadan and a minor in conflict with law. After the theft, both of them had hidden the jewelery in the village, which was recovered by the police. The recovered items include anklets, bangles, toe rings, armlets, girdles, silver coins, lockets and idols of Lakshmi-Ganesh, whose weight is said to be around 4 kg and the value is said to be around ₹ 6 lakh.

Police said that another accused involved in this theft is still absconding, whose search is on. Further legal action is being taken by presenting both the arrested accused in the court. The police solved this theft in just 72 hours and 100% recovery has also been done.
