This year, licenses with 50 kg capacity will be issued to a total of 932 firecracker shops in the district. According to officials, licenses will be allotted through lottery system at Nazul SDM office on October 15, after which shopkeepers will be able to set up shops at designated places from October 16.
Collector Kaushalendra Vikram Singh has issued instructions to all vendors to follow safety measures. The fire brigade and corporation staff have been kept under special surveillance to prevent incidents like arson on Diwali. This time, the firecracker market will not be organized in Bittan Market, where this market has been organized for the last 30 years. Due to security reasons, the administration has decided to change the venue. Now firecracker markets will be set up at seven new places in the city.
Promotion of sale of green and low noise firecrackers
According to the guidelines, this time the emphasis will be on the sale of green and low noise firecrackers. There will be a ban on the sale of twine bombs and loud firecrackers. Low noise crackers like Chakri, Pomegranate, Fuljhadi and Multi Shot Cake will be available in the market.
Licenses will also be issued to wholesalers
Along with retail shops, licenses up to 1500 kg are also being issued to 19 wholesalers. For this, 18 warehouses have been built in the city, where limited quantity of fireworks will be stored. The administration says that strictness will be taken at every level to ensure security and transparency.
