Chief Minister Sai participated in the workshop organized on the topic of water conservation and water conservation under ‘Sujlam Bharat’.

“If there is water, there is tomorrow, and tomorrow will be created only by water. We all will have to work together for water conservation, only then we will be able to secure our future.”
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai said this while addressing a workshop organized on the subject of water conservation and water conservation at Omaya Garden in the capital Raipur under ‘Sujlam Bharat’. On this occasion, he offered water on the water urn and gave the message of water conservation.

Chief Minister Sai said that our Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed deep concern about the water crisis on many occasions. Lack of awareness among the public about water conservation can deepen this crisis. He said that people across the state are making efforts for water conservation in their own ways, and through such forums everyone will be able to share their experiences, which will ultimately prove to be decisive in policy making.

Referring to his visit to Rajnandgaon, Chief Minister Sai said that a woman sarpanch, on her own initiative, took up the task of reviving dry hand pumps. His innovative effort was also appreciated by the Central Government and financial assistance was provided to carry forward this noble initiative.
The Chief Minister said that such examples inspire us. We all have to come together and make water conservation a mass movement, so that our future can be secure. He said that the suggestions and inputs received from this seminar will prove to be very helpful in formulating future action plans.

Chief Minister gave the message to irrigate the earth by offering water from Kelo river.

On the occasion of the inauguration of the program, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai offered holy water of Kelo river in the Kalash installed as a symbol of the earth and gave the message of water conservation and harvesting. He said that “water is life” and our sacred rivers irrigate the earth and make it life-giving. The identity of our culture, civilization and existence is linked to these rivers.

The Chief Minister said that the rivers of Chhattisgarh — Mahanadi, Indravati, Shivnath, Kelo and others — are the lifelines of the state. These rivers not only make the earth fertile, but also provide sustenance to agriculture, industry and every sphere of life. He said that offering the water of Kelo River in an earth-shaped pot symbolizes that we should respect every drop of water and preserve it for the coming generations.

Chief Minister Sai called upon the public representatives, officials and citizens present to make this resolution of water conservation a part of their daily routine, so that the land of Chhattisgarh always remains alive with greenery and prosperity.

While giving information about the programme, Water Resources Department Secretary Rajesh Sukumar Toppo said that this program has been conceptualized under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Various departments have been instructed to organize seminars on one theme each. Under this, this seminar on the subject of water harvesting is being organized by the Ministry of Jal Shakti. He said that today more than 300 people, who are working in the field of water conservation, have registered themselves. The government has kept water conservation on top priority. In the last one year, collectors of the districts and related departments have made significant contribution in water harvesting. So far three and a half lakh structures have been constructed, as a result of which a significant rise in ground water level has been recorded.

Padma Mati Phoolbasan Bai Yadav, Secretary of Urban Administration Department Dr. Basavaraju S., Secretary of Public Health Engineering Department Mohammad Qaiser Abdul Haq and a large number of dignitaries were present in the program.
