After the defeat in Operation Sindoor, terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) is now forming a special brigade of women. Jaish has named its first women’s wing ‘Jamaat al-Muminaat’. The responsibility of this brigade of women terrorists has been handed over to Sadia Azhar, sister of Jaish chief Maulana Masood Azhar. This has been revealed in a letter issued in the name of Masood Azhar. Recruitment for the new brigade has also started on October 8 at Markaz Usman-o-Ali in Bahawalpur, Pakistan.
Sadia Azhar’s husband Yusuf Azhar was killed during Operation Sindoor on 7 May. Then the Indian Army attacked the headquarters of Jaish-e-Mohammed located in Markaz Subhanallah, Bahawalpur. Masood Azhar admitted that 14 members of his family were killed in Operation Sindoor, including his elder sister and her husband, five children, nephew, nephew’s wife and niece. However, it is not known whether Saadia is the elder sister or another sister.
Wives of Jaish commanders also recruited
Masood Azhar and his brother Talha al-Saif had approved the operation to include women in Jaish-e-Mohammed. This organization is recruiting wives of Jaish-e-Mohammed commanders in training centers located in Bahawalpur, Karachi, Muzaffarabad, Kotli, Haripur and Mansehra. Besides, economically weak women are also being lured for recruitment. Earlier, Jaish-e-Mohammed had banned women from participating in armed operations. But after India’s Operation Sindoor, it has changed its strategy.
Which organizations already have women’s wing?
It is being said that now Jaish-e-Mohammed can train and deploy female suicide bombers. Organizations like ISIS, Boko Haram, Hamas and LTTE have been using women in combat operations. However, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen have been avoiding doing so.
Jaish has been brainwashing women since 2024
Sources say that this group is active since the year 2024 and its aim is to brainwash women and include them in its network. This brigade has been created as the women’s wing of Jaish, which is doing psychological warfare, i.e. mentally influencing propaganda and recruitment at the ground level.
