CM Mohan Yadav’s strict action
The incidents of kidney failure of children by drinking phlegm syrup in Chhindwara district have shocked the entire state. So far 16 innocent people have died. In this serious case, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav reached Parasia in Chhindwara and met the family of the deceased. The Chief Minister expressed condolences to the families of the late Adnan in Newton, Usaid, resident of Magazine Line and two -year -old Yojita Thackeray of Barkuhi and consoled them.
While discussing with the media, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav said that prima facie the fault of the drug maker seems to be the biggest in this whole episode. Apart from this, a lot of negligence of officers and employees of the concerned departments has also come to light. Which is being acted upon. The Chief Minister issued an order to suspend four officers on the spot. The suspended officers include Shobhit Kosta of Deputy Drug Controller and Control Authority Bhopal, Sharad Jain of Drug Inspector Jabalpur, Gaurav Sharma of Drug Inspector Chhindwara and Drug Controller IAS Dinesh Maurya.
Doctors who write phlegm syrup arrested
The Chief Minister clarified that the culprits will not be spared at any cost and the sale of cold cuff syrup in the state has already been banned with immediate effect. In the case, a case has been registered under sections 27 (A) of Drugs and Cosmetic Act, sections 105 and 276 of BNS. Dr. Praveen Soni, who wrote the same syrup to most of the dead children, was arrested late Saturday. Earlier, an FIR was lodged against the operators of Dr. Soni and Sresun Pharmaceutical Company at Parasia police station.
Congress demands 1-1 crore compensation
At the same time, Congress state president Jeetu Patwari also reached Chhindwara and attacked the government fiercely. He said that the sensations of the state government are dead. Patwari demanded the state government to give compensation of at least Rs 1-1 crore to each victim’s family. Patwari organized a tribute meeting in memory of the dead children, in which many Congress leaders attended. This painful incident raises a deep question on the health system of the state. The Chief Minister said that the investigation is going on completely seriously and the harsh punishment against the culprits will be ensured.
