Petition will be heard on 6 October
His wife Geetanjali Angams filed a petition in the Supreme Court on 2 October for the arrest of Sonam Wangchuk, a famous climate activist from Ladakh. In this petition, he has challenged the arrest of Sonam Wangchuk under the NSA and has also demanded his release. The Supreme Court has fixed October 6 for hearing this petition. The case will be heard by a bench of Justices Arvind Kumar and NV Anjania.
In fact, Ladakh The government blamed Sonam Wangchuk for the violent performance in Wangchuk was arrested after the Leh violence on 24 September. He is currently lodged in Jodhpur in Rajasthan. Gitanjali approached the Supreme Court to demand Wangchuk’s release.
