Jane-G protesters will again take to the streets in Nepal

In Nepal, people associated with Generation-Z (GEN-Z) are preparing to take to the streets again. The day of October 9 has been chosen for this. A faction of the Gen-G movement is planning to perform in the capital Kathmandu on this day. This time the demonstration is going to be against Sushila Karki government.

People associated with Generation-Z are issuing an appeal on social media. KP Sharma Oli’s government was uprooted due to the performance of Generation-Z in Nepal in September 2025.

Why was the day of 9 October chosen?

The date of Generation-Z was caught on 9 September. On this day, Nepal’s Home Minister resigned. The next day KP Sharma resigned and fled in the army barrack. After this, the interim government was formed in Nepal. Sushila Karki was assigned the leadership of the government.

The interim government of Nepal is working under the leadership of Karki. The main goal of the Karki government is to make the general election prevailing in February 2026.

By considering the 9 digit as auspicious, Jane-G has made a plan to take to the streets again. Here, a group associated with Jane-G has announced not to participate in the performance. According to Tanuja Pandey, the face of Jane-G, this can be a violent movement. We will now wait for the election.

Similarly, Miraj Dhungana has released a video and announced to keep himself away from the protest of Jane-G. Miraj says that our demands have been met. Now we are not going to make any movement.

Then why is GEN-Z going to perform?

Sushila Karki’s interim government has 3 main demands of Jane-G from the time of formation. These include the first demand to release the list of those who were killed in the demonstration and to give them martyr status.

The second demand is the demand to participate in the interim government of Nepal, in the interim government. The third demand is to immediately imprison those leaders in Nepal, on which bullets were fired at Jane-G in Nepal.

Sushila Karki’s government has not taken any major initiative about these 3 demands so far.
