A major accident occurred due to the truck’s brake failure on Saturday night at Loha Mandi Bridge in Indore. The truck hit four vehicles. The incident is of Loha Mandi Bridge at around 8.30 pm. The truck number MP 09 GB 6446 was going from Loha Mandi towards Chandan Nagar. The truck brakes failed on the bridge and engulfed the car, loading vehicle and scooter. Scooter rider Sharmila resident Bhima Nagar and Monika Solanki resident Malaviya Nagar were injured due to the collision. Both were going to play Garba in Lalbagh.
Attempt to stop truck by changing gear
According to Additional DCP Zone-4 Dishesh Aggarwal, the brakes of the truck failed. The driver first tried to stop the truck by changing the gear. Finally he collided with the loading vehicle while saving. The driver told that he had come to Lohamandi between 12 and three. The truck was parked throughout the day.
At night he was going to vacate the drum in Chandannagar. According to DCP Zone-4 Anand Kaladigat, the registration of the truck is in the category of light commercial vehicle.
