There is a huge shortage of police force to improve traffic system in Indore. Of the 53 sanctioned traffic inspectors, only 7 are posted. The deaths of three people in the recent accident raises a big question on traffic management. 850 policemen are needed in Indore, but only 679.
The issue of lack of traffic force in the urban border is once again in the headlines. Traffic management discussions are taking place after the death of three people. The officer may not speak openly, its report has been sent to the headquarters. The biggest drawback is that of traffic inspectors. The government has approved 53 posts, but the posting is of seven inspectors.
Traffic management is still struggling with shortage of 46 inspectors. The truck accident between Teacher Nagar (Aerodrum) to Bada Ganpati (Malharganj) was caused by the absence of police. On scrutinizing the records of officers, it was found that the policemen who had to be present at the crossroads had gone to the program of religious gurus.
46 Inspector still low
Officials claim that to handle a program, one has to reduce the strength of one intersection. The posts that the government approved in the Commissionerate was not fulfilled. According to sources, in December 2021, 53 posts of inspectors were approved for traffic management with the implementation of the commissioner system. There was only seven posting in it.

Gulsher Khan, a driver who trampled passers -by on Indore Aerodrum Road, was driving a truck without a driving license. The validity of his license ended in 2018 itself. According to DCP Zone-1 Krishna Lalchandani, Gulsher was misleading. He had said that licenses and truck documents were burnt in the fire. The police wrote a letter to the RTO and asked for information, it was told that Gulsher’s license has ended in 2018 itself. The police also co-accused Sahil Khan. According to TI Tarun Bhati, the reward will be declared on the accused. Gulsher, a resident of Tanjim Nagar (Khajrana), currently lives in Dharampuri.
