The water level of rivers and reservoirs is increasing rapidly due to the continuous torrential rains in the division. The Kolans River was flowing nine feet above Saturday. Due to this, a large amount of rain water is reaching the big pond called the lifeline of the capital. This is the reason that for the last four days, gates of Bhadbhada and Kaliasot Dam are being opened continuously.
The number three gate of Bhadbhada Dam was opened at 12 noon on Saturday. In -charge Ajay Singh Solanki said that by seven in the evening, 72 MCFT water had been released from the dam. He said that the gates of the dam will be open overnight so that the water level of the pond can be controlled.
Similarly, gate number six and seven of Kaliasot Dam were opened at 1 pm. In -charge Ashutosh Yadav said that 150 cumec water is being released from both the gates per second. He says that as long as the gates of Bhadbhada Dam are open, Kaliasot’s gates will also be open.
Kerwa Dam Status
At the same time, the condition of Kerwa Dam is different. Not a single gate has been opened here in this season. Dam in -charge Mukesh Goyal said that at present, 25 percent of the capacity in the dam is vacant and about three feet of water is required to fill it completely. However, the water level here increased by eight percent on Saturday. While the water level was 72 percent in the morning, it reached 80 percent by 5:30 pm.
