Now the farmers will have to give the seeds of their favorite company to the department. Those seeds will be developed with the help of technology in sedling unit. Advanced varieties will be given to farmers again. The farmer can directly plant these plants in his fields. The crop will also be good with advanced type of plant. Farmers say that with this technology and help, half of their problems have reduced. Earlier, those seeds used to make rounds of many districts for the plant, but now the same facility has become available in their own city.
Seed Revolution in Surguja: Actually, the treated plant is available in the market for 12 to 15 rupees, because private companies prepare the plant by setting up a very expensive sideling unit, due to which the price of the plant becomes more. But now farmers can prepare a plant in their unit by giving their seeds to the horticulture department. Farmers will have to pay one rupee per plant. If farmers prepare the plant themselves, then they do not have any such unit. Many times the plant gets spoiled due to weather or disease, and farmers are damaged.
