West Indies head coach Darren Sammy believes that there is so much variety in his fast bowling attack that he can take 20 wickets in Indian circumstances. He asked his team to take inspiration from New Zealand before the upcoming two -Test series, which created history by defeating India on its land last year. The first Test match between India and West Indies will be played in Ahmedabad from October 2 and the second Test in Delhi from October 10.
“We are now in a situation where our fast bowling attack is capable of taking wickets under any circumstances,” head coach Darren Sammy told reporters. We have four different types of fast bowlers who have their own special feature. There is diversity in our fast bowling attack. ”
The West Indies’ fast bowling attack includes Aljari Joseph, Shamar Joseph, Anderson Philip and Jayden Seals, in addition to all -rounder Justin Greaves. Sammy said, “We have Shamar Joseph, who is a very skilled bowler. We have a Jayden, whose front leg is strong and he can swing the ball on both sides. We have Aljari Joseph who can achieve bounce due to our height. In this way we have the capacity to take 20 wickets in Test matches in India. ”
Sammy said that his team wants to follow New Zealand, which defeated India 3–0 last year. He said, “New Zealand went there and did incredibly well and we should take inspiration from him. But it is a matter of understanding things that New Zealand did under the circumstances. Hopefully our players will follow them. ”
