Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai inaugurated the new rail service in Rajim today. He cleared the new Memu train service from Rajim to Raipur, increasing the traffic facility of the people of the area. On this occasion, he also started expansion of Rajim-Raipur-Rajim Memu New Train Service and Raipur-Abhanpur Rail Service to Rajim. A large number of passengers boarded the train on the occasion and enthusiastically left for Raipur. There was an atmosphere of joy and gaiety in the entire region due to getting cheap and accessible new rail facilities.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that from this new rail service, people of Gariaband and Devbhog region including Rajim will also get the option of cheap and affordable travel to the capital Raipur. This train will prove to be extremely useful for all including students, employed class and business class. He said that Prayag of Chhattisgarh, Rajim has now joined the rail network. The movement of the capital Raipur from rural areas has become more easy, convenient and economical.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that with the blessings of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in our Chhattisgarh, the pace of development has been continuously for 19 months. The Chief Minister said that the rapid investment in railway infrastructure will create a new future for generations to come. He informed that about eight years ago, Nairogez train used to run from Dhamtari to Raipur and now after a gap of eight years, broad gauge train facility has been available here. For this, he expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi on behalf of the people of Chhattisgarh.

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that currently about 45,000 crore rupees of projects of Railways are being operated in Chhattisgarh. A provision of about Rs 7,000 crore has been made in the budget of FY 2025-26, which is ensuring rapid expansion and development of rail services in the state.

On this occasion, Forest Minister Shri Kedar Kashyap, Food Minister Mr. Dayaldas Baghel, Lok Sabha MP Raipur Mr. Brijmohan Agrawal, Mahasamund MP Mrs. Roopkumari Chaudhary, Abhanpur MLA Mr. Indkumar Sahu, Rajim MLA Mr. Rohit Sahu, Chhattisgarh State Store Home Corporation President Mr. Chandulal Sahu, Nagar Palika Gobra Nawapara Chairman Smt. Public representatives, General Manager of South East Central Railway, Mr. Tarun Prakash, Railway Officer-employees and a large number of citizens were present.

Forest Minister and Minister in -charge of Raipur district Shri Kedar Kashyap said that this new service has ensured direct rail access to Prayag Rajim of Chhattisgarh, which will also promote tourism. He said that on 22 May, 103 railway stations of the country were selected to modify the country in the name of ‘Nirmal Bharat Railway Station’, out of which five railway stations in Chhattisgarh and 32 stations have also been added to the scheme. For this, he thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji and appreciated the efforts of Chief Minister Shri Sai. He said that railway projects worth about Rs 45,000 crore are on in the state, which will speed up rail connectivity. Bastar is also benefiting from this and the work of 140 km long railway line is in progress under the Rawaghat project.

Raipur Lok Sabha MP Shri Brijmohan Agrawal said that saints and tourists come from outside in Prayagraj Rajim of Chhattisgarh in large numbers. Now they will get the facility to come directly from Raipur to Rajim, which will give a new direction to tourism and regional development and Rajim’s name will be more illuminated on the world stage.

Mahasamund MP Smt. Roopkumari Chaudhary congratulated the people for the new rail service and said that now it has become very easy to come to Raipur from Rajim. Devotees and tourist passengers will now be able to travel directly from Rajim to Dongargarh.

According to the information received from Raipur Railway Division of South East Central Railway, Raipur-Abhanpur-Raipur Memu Passenger train will now be operated till Rajim. From 19 September 2025, according to the regular time table, train number 68766/68767 Rajim-Abhanpur-Raipur Memu Passenger will operate daily from both ends-Rajim and Raipur. This train will have a total of 08 coaches including 06 general category coaches and 02 Powerkar.
