The police have arrested the mother-son who took a real gold chain by giving fake gold in Sadar Bazar of Raipur, Chhattisgarh. In the case, the mother-son escaped with a real gold chain of 1.68 lakh rupees by giving fake bracelets. Accused Savita Singh alias Sapna alias Suppo (43 years) and her son Ishant alias Anuj Verma (23 years) have been arrested by the police. Both of them are from Ghaziabad in UP.
The incident is of Dhadiwal Jewelers located in Sadar Bazar of police station Kotwali area. Here on the evening of September 9, the accused woman reached the shop with the son and gave the shopkeeper on the pretext of repairing a fake gold bracelet. On this, the shopkeeper told them that the bracelet cannot be repaired, then the woman bid, change it and give it a chain. In confidence, the shopkeeper gave them 13 grams weighing 880 mg, which cost Rs 1.68 lakh. After this, they escaped with this chain.
Police lodged a complaint
After both of them left, the shopkeeper checked the bracelet and his hoses flew away. During the investigation, the bracelet turned out to be fake. As soon as the fraud was realized, the shopkeeper immediately lodged a complaint in the case. As soon as the information was received, the police registered a case and started investigation.
Taking the incident of cheating seriously, the joint team of Anti Crime and Cyber Unit and police station police station started investigating. After this, the CCTV footage installed in the shop was investigated. The investigation identified a woman and a man. It also came to know that he also has a car.
The accused have committed incidents before
After this, the team laid siege and arrested both. During interrogation, the accused admitted that before the incident in Raipur, they had cheated the real gold by giving fake bracelets from Ajay Jewelers located in Sadar Bazar in Bilaspur.
