Crime and domestic quarrels are continuously increasing due to alcohol, but the incident that came out on Tuesday evening in Bicor village of Tendukheda assembly constituency of Narsinghpur district has once again forced to wonder why liquor shops opening from village to village are becoming headaches for the common people. At around 6.30 pm on Tuesday evening, the women of the village collectively set fire to a license shop of indigenous liquor. On seeing this, the goods worth lakhs of rupees kept in the shop were burnt down.

According to the villagers, this liquor shop had been a cause of controversy in Bicor village for a long time. The alcoholism of the men of the village not only spoiled the atmosphere of the houses, but also gave rise to problems like domestic violence and financial constraints. Women were constantly opposing this shop. He said that the youth and working class are getting badly affected by the liquor shop in the village. People working in farm and barns used to blow a large part of the day’s earnings in alcohol. This was causing an economic crisis for the women and children of the house.

Throw out bottles of wine

The anger of the women of the village increased so much that on Tuesday evening they attacked the liquor shop. Bottles of liquor were taken out of the boxes kept there and then set on fire. The flames were so fast that the entire shop was burnt to ashes in a short time. The video of this incident also became increasingly viral on social media, in which it is clear that women are united and destroying alcohol.

Local administration and police reached the spot as soon as the information of the incident was received. Excise Inspector Satish Kumar said that the license of this shop has been issued in the name of Ramlal Jharia, partner of Vanshika Construction. Tehsildar Nirmal Patle and Assistant Excise Officer BL Uike have also confirmed the case. A complaint has been lodged by the shop operator at Tendukheda police station, after which the police have registered a case and started investigation. Additional Superintendent of Police Sandeep Bhuria said that the matter has been taken seriously and further action will be taken.

Was asked to remove the liquor shop

This incident is not only a matter of arson in a liquor shop, but it also shows the pain and resentment of rural society. The women had been demanding the removal of liquor shops from the village for a long time, but when their voice remained unheard, they took drastic steps. This step may be wrong in terms of law, but socially, it exposes the resentment and compulsion of the village.
