The Gujarat High Court has given a big blow to former Indian cricketer and current Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Yusuf Pathan. The court has rejected his petition related to land dispute in Tandalja area of Vadodara. The court clearly said that the plot on which Yusuf Pathan has captured is the property of the municipal corporation and they have to vacate it. In such a situation, the threat of bulldozer action on this property has started looming.
This dispute is many years old. Former BJP councilor Vijay Pawar had alleged that the Vadodara Municipal Corporation had passed a proposal to allot a plot to Yusuf Pathan in the year 2012 and was sent to the state government. However, in 2014, the Gujarat government rejected the proposal. Despite this, Yusuf Pathan allegedly captured the plot and made a shed for cattle along with the boundary wall there.
High court rejected the petition
After this, when the Vadodara Municipal Corporation started the action to remove the encroachment, Yusuf Pathan approached the High Court. His petition was heard in the court of Justice Monaben Bhatt. The court not only dismissed the petition, but also asked the Municipal Corporation that when the state government did not approve the allocation, why action was not taken for so many years.
On this matter, Assistant Commissioner of Vadodara Municipal Corporation Suresh Tuvar informed that TP Plot located in Tandalja area of West Vadodara is the property of the corporation. Earlier, the process of allotting this plot was started, but due to non -approval from the state government, the matter stopped. Despite this, Yusuf Pathan captured the land. Now the decision of the High Court has come in favor of the Municipal Corporation, which has made it clear that this land will always be the property of the corporation.
However, experts believe that Yusuf Pathan can now go to the Supreme Court on this matter. At present, after the order of the High Court, the way has been cleared to carry forward the action of removing the encroachment for the corporation.
Election of MP from Barahampur seat won
Yusuf Pathan has made his mark not only in the cricket field, but also in politics. In the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, he contested on a TMC ticket from Barahampur seat in West Bengal and reached Parliament after defeating veteran Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chaudhary.
