The Chhattisgarh High Court has expressed strict displeasure over the dilapidated condition of roads from Raipur to Bilaspur. The court asked the government to get the real repair and reconstruction of the road, only the problems of the public will not be overcome by dyeing.

Chief Justice Ramesh Singh and Justice B.D. During the hearing, the Guru’s Division Bench questioned the government as to why it takes so much time to improve the road. How much time is needed to fix 15 km of road. The court commented that only studying will not work, starting actual repair work as soon as possible.

Government’s reply and court displeasure

It was told by the government that the tender process for road repair has been started and the study work is currently underway. On this, the court said that people are upset with cracks and pits on the road, so it is not appropriate to lose time by making only reports.

Order to present report in two weeks

The court directed the National Highway Authority (NHAI) and PWD to complete the report of the actual status of Raipur to Bilaspur highway in two weeks and submit the report. The next hearing of the case will be on 23 September.

Strict court comment

The judges said – ‘We do not just want the lighting and dyeing of the road. Till the road is not repaired, the problem of people will not be over. The government will have to take concrete action immediately.
