According to the report of the Association for Democratic Reforms (ADR), 302 of the 643 ministers in the country, or about 47 percent of the ministers, have criminal cases, who have faced many serious allegations like murder, kidnapping and crime against women. At the same time, out of 302 ministers, 174 ministers are facing serious criminal allegations. The most criminal cases are registered against the ministers of Telugu Desam Party.
This report of ADR has come after the bill recently introduced by the Center, stating that if a serious criminal case has been registered against a minister, Prime Minister or Chief Minister, which can be sentenced to five years or more and has been kept in custody continuously for thirty days, then this bill has demanded immediate removal of such ministers.
How many ministers of which party registered cases?
The report found that out of 336 ministers of BJP, 136, ie 40%, ministers have declared criminal cases against them, out of which 88 ministers have criminal cases registered. At the same time, 45 ministers of Congress have criminal cases registered, out of which 18 ministers are facing serious allegations.
Out of 40 ministers of Mamta Banerjee’s Trinamool Congress, 13 ministers have criminal cases, out of which 8 ministers are facing serious criminal cases. Out of 31 DMK ministers, 27 are criminal charges, while 14 ministers have serious cases registered. Arvind Kejriwal has criminal cases against 11 ministers out of 16 ministers of Aam Aadmi Party, while 5 ministers have been accused.
The most criminal cases are registered against the ministers of Telugu Desam Party. Out of 23 ministers of this party, 22 ministers have criminal cases, while 13 ministers are accused of serious cases. If we talk about national level, then 29 of the 72 Union ministers declared criminal cases against them.
There is no case registered against ministers of these states
There are many criminal cases against the ministers of most parties of the states of the country. More than 60 percent of ministers from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Odisha, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Punjab, Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Delhi and Puducherry have several criminal cases against them. On the contrary, ministers of Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Nagaland and Uttarakhand informed about no criminal case against them.
Property near ministers
The ADR report also told about the properties of ministers. According to the report, the average assets of ministers are Rs 37.21 crore. The total assets of all 643 ministers are about 30 thousand crores. Karnataka has the highest number of ministers billionaires. The report said that out of 72 Union Councils of Ministers of the Central Government, 6 ministers are billionaires.
According to the report, the most billionaire leaders are from the BJP party, whose number is 14. At the same time, the Congress is in second place, out of 61 ministers, 11 ministers are billionaires.
The country’s richest minister is TDP leader and MP from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, Dr. Chandrashekhar Pammasani, who has assets worth more than 5 thousand crores. Karnataka Congress leader D.K. Shivkumar is in second place, which has assets worth about 1400 crores. On the other hand, if we talk about ministers of the lowest property, then the leader of Indigenous People’s Front of Tripura is Shukla Charan Notia, who has assets of only 2 lakhs.
