Australia’s Test and ODI captain Pat Cummins is out of all limited overs cricket matches of 2025. Cummins suffered injuries during the Caribbean tour, after which the scan revealed his lumbar bone. Cummins will now miss a series of upcoming limited overs against New Zealand and India. Which includes three ODIs against India starting from October 19.
Cummins shared his feelings about the injury, saying, ‘At this stage of my career, I think I can probably hold a little faster than the age of 18 or 19 years. At that time you might think you some [शेफील्ड] There is a need to play a shield match or ODI match. I am confident that even if I do not get a chance to play a shield match, I can catch the rhythm. If you do the release properly, I am ready to take some risks and be a little aggressive for the big Ashes series. No more series than this.
In Caribbean and Australia, Cummins will focus on rehabilitation despite missing out many white ball matches including T20 and ODIs and will have to fit for the five -Test Ashes series. However, before the series, Cummins will miss the necessary rest and may be able to play only one or two Sheffield Shield matches before returning to the international ground directly.
Australian selectors have already made some changes. All -rounder Cameron Green has been rested for the New Zealand T20 series to put a long spell in the Sheffield Shield. Apart from this, Bu Webster is being seen as an additional seam bowling option that can contribute to fast bowling. Which may further depth in Australian bowling in the absence of Cummins.
