‘No helmet, no petrol’ campaign failed on the first day! Petrol found indiscriminately without helmet

Regarding road safety, the Raipur Petrol Pump Association had taken the initiative to start “No Helmet, No Petrol” campaign from September 01. For this, the association had also submitted a memorandum to Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw and Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh. But the first day of the campaign showed the ground in reality.

On Friday, he went to the major petrol pumps of Raipur and conducted a live investigation. The result was shocking. Petrols were given to two -wheelers without helmets from morning to late evening in busy areas like Fafadih, Pacheepidi Naka, Jai Pillar Chowk and Shastri Chowk.

The resolution was strictly

The Petrol Pump Association had said that the campaign will start from September 01 and it is a step taken in social interest. The association claimed that not wearing helmets behind the increasing deaths in road accidents is a major reason, and this campaign would make the general public aware of security. But in reality neither a board showed, neither warning nor strictness. Pump workers were giving petrol on the old pattern. But the question arises that when the memorandum was submitted by taking the initiative and the date was fixed, then why did there be no implementation of petrol pumps on the first day?

Investigation: Openly flying rules on these pumps

The campaign was a volunteer and was to be started with administrative support, but there was no idea of administrative monitoring on the pumps on the very first day. No checking team, no checking of instructions. The question arises that when the campaign was announced publicly, who was monitoring it?

Administration also did not take cognizance

There was a long queue of two -wheelers without helmets from 8 am to noon. When asked by the Naiduniya correspondent, a staff said, “We have not received any order.” Nobody said that do not give petrol without helmets. There is also no information about installation of boards.

Around 12 noon, many school students and youths were seen filling petrol without helmet. The pump worker said, we do not know about the implementation of any such no helmet, no petrol campaign. For the first time, you are hearing that something like this has started.

There was a huge crowd at the pump at 6 pm. Those who do not wear helmets were also given petrol comfortably. When asked, the staff clearly said, no order has come. We are working as usual. Who said that without helmet petrol will not be available?

There was no information board installed here till 8 pm nor stopped anyone. An employee said, we were not given any written information. If not a helmet, it is not petrol, it has only been read in newspapers, but no such instructions have been found on the pump.
