More than 150 illegal colonies were regularized in Indore, no system to deposit development fee

Indore Municipal Corporation has regularized more than 150 illegal colonies, but there is no system to charge development fee. Facilities are already available in most colonies and construction has been done, due to which residents are not showing interest in depositing development fees. The corporation is now planning to create a system to explain residents and deposit development fee.

The Indore Municipal Corporation is regularizing the illegal colonies of the city, but it has no system to charge development fee from the residents of these colonies. The condition is that the corporation has regularized more than 150 colonies so far, but the development fee has not deposited any colony. Actually, most of the colonies that have been regularized are already developed. Electricity, water and road facilities are available in them.

Construction has also been done without passing the map on most plots. The question is arising that in such a situation, why residents will deposit the development fee while there is no development in their colony. The Municipal Corporation says that after regularizing the colony and submission of development fee, residents will be able to pass the map and construct it in a legitimate manner, but the corporation is silent about what will happen to those who are already built.

150 colonies were regular in three phases

The campaign to regularize the illegal colonies of the city started about two and a half years ago. The Municipal Corporation has so far regularized more than 150 colonies in three phases. In lieu of regularizing the colonies, residents had to deposit a certain development fee in the Municipal Corporation. This amount ranges from five rupees square feet to 150 rupees square feet. The Municipal Corporation did not make any system to deposit this amount.

Regularly the colony was told that after this the maps will be passed, banks will be able to get loans for construction, but the problem is that there are already houses in most colonies regularly. Not only this, road, water and electricity facilities are also already available in these colonies.

Overall, these colonies are already developed. They have no need for additional development. In such a situation, the corporation has no answer to why the residents of these colonies will deposit the development fee. 100 percent residents of any colony regularized by illegal have not yet deposited the development fee in the corporation.

Will try to explain

Systems will be created for the development fee from the colonies. In case of non -deposit of development fee within a fixed time frame, they will also propose to reconsider the decision to regularize the colony. They will try to convince the residents that they will get the benefit of depositing development fee. – Rajesh Udawat, Colony Cell Incharge, Municipal Corporation Indore
