The 25th meeting as the silver festival of the State Level Geological Program Board Chhattisgarh was held today at the New Circuit House, Civil Line, P. Dayanand, Secretary, Chhattisgarh Government, Mineral Resources Department and Chairman Chhattisgarh Geological Program was held under the chairmanship of the Board of Geological Program. Representatives of Rajat Bansal, Director Ghumiki and Money and Central Government and various departments, undertakings were also present in the meeting. The main objective of the meeting was to prepare better use of mineral resources in the state, prepare the outline of new mining projects and review the achievements of the previous year.
The meeting presented a detailed description of the mining works completed during the year 2024-25 and the achievements made from them. During the review, the fact came out that in the last financial year, the state has received about 15 thousand crores as mineral revenue. This achievement is about 34 percent more than the year 2023-24. This growth has not only strengthened the economic structure of the state, but has also opened the doors of new investment and opportunities in the mining sector.
Mineral all -round development backbone
Chief Minister’s Secretary P. Dayanand said that mineral is the backbone of all -round development of any state and country. The discovery of strategic and critical mineral in the state indicates the onset of a new era of development in the state. He said that for the establishment of new industries based in Chhattisgarh, various minerals present in the state should be investigated in a continuous and systematic manner.
All departments and institutions related to the investigation works present in the meeting were urged to investigate the important minerals found in the state using their skills, resources and the latest technology available for the overall development of Chhattisgarh. Dayanand, Secretary to the Chief Minister and Mineral Secretary Dayanand, advised to share and coordinate the data produced between agencies working for the development of minerals in Chhattisgarh.
Giving information about the works done in the regional session 2024-25 by the Director Geology and Minery Chhattisgarh Rajat Bansal, it was informed that about 2500 million tonnes of lime and iron ore stores were assessed in the year 2024-25. Important and strategic minerals have been included by the department in the exploration projects of the upcoming regional session 2025-26.
The project will be a decisive step towards the country required mineral resources. This will empower the self -sufficient India mission and encourage continuous and self -sufficient development in strategic fields. He said that the Chhattisgarh government is committed to providing full support to scientific and detailed mineral exploration and development. “
The Ministry of Mines, Government of India has received approval for 1 and 1 investigation project for lime in the year 2024-25 under NMET in Chhattisgarh. Two proposals were approved for the state’s investigation work under NMET to the notified private investigation institute. Which includes proposals of one lithium, neobium, tentalum, tetanium rare soil metals and an iron ignition. Important steps have been taken by the department to strengthen exploration and strengthening of mineral resources by promoting cooperation with private institutions.
Information about mineral investigation works
Representatives of various departments, undertakings of the Central Government and the state government also presented information about the mineral investigation work done in the state of Chhattisgarh. First of all, Dr. Amit Dharwarkar, Deputy Director General of the Department of Geological Survey of India, was told that survey work has been done for bauxite, gold, glucenit, lithium, tetanium rare soil metals, phosphorite, fluorite, lead and zinc minerals in various districts of Chhattisgarh. In the year 2025-26, work is being taken on a total of 29 projects of various minerals.
In the year 2025-26, a total of 11 investigation projects were approved by the Directorate of Geology and Khanikarma, Chhattisgarh for survey / pre-preservation work. Which includes 02 on strategic and curiosity minerals, 02 on glucicite, 01 on lapidolate, 02 on lime, 02 on iron ore and 02 on bauxite.
On this occasion, Regional Controller of IBM Raipur Prem Prakash, Regional Mining Geologist D. Das, Deputy Director General of GSI Raipur Amit A Dharwadkar, regional director of Central Region of AMD S.R. NMD including Manthanwar C., CIL, Vedanta, UltraTech, Deccan Gold officials and other concerned department officials were present.
