Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, the Chhattisgarh government is going to launch Gaudham Yojana to empower the rural economy and give a new direction to livestock protection. This ambitious scheme will not only promote livestock safety and breed reforms, but will also open new employment opportunities in villages through organic farming, fodder development and cow-based industries.
The nature of Gaudham Yojana has been prepared in such a way that along with the care of destitute and nomadic cows, the shepherds and gausvaks should have a permanent source of regular income, so that economic stability and self-reliance in rural life. The draft of Gaudham Yojana has also been approved by the Finance and Livestock Development Department.
The purpose of Gaudham Yojana
The objective of this scheme is to conserve and promote cow dynasty animals with scientific method, promote cow-products, encourage fodder development program, to develop Godham as a training center, provide employment to villagers and ensure loss of animal and loss of animal and loss of accidents.
Focus on illegal smuggling and safety of nomadic animals
The Livestock Development Department has prepared this scheme keeping in mind the safety of animals and nomadic animals caught in trafficking or illegal transport. Illegal animal trafficking and transportation is already banned in the state. A large number of cow dynasty animals are seized in police action on inter -state borders. This scheme is being started only to protect these animals and nomadic animals. According to capacity, a maximum of 200 cow dynasty animals can be kept in each Gaudham.
Under the Gaudham scheme, the shepherds will be given Rs 10,916 per month and the Gaushevaks will be given honorarium of Rs 13,126 per month. Along with this, the fixed amount will be provided daily for the fodder of cattle. For every animal living there, the outstanding Gaudham will be given 10 rupees per day, 20 rupees per day, 30 rupees per day and the fourth year at 35 rupees per day. Budget, terms and conditions have been fixed for the scheme, so that there is no problem in operation.
‘Livestock security and employment in villages will increase the scheme’
Chief Minister Sai says that Gaudham Yojana will ensure safety of animals in the state and a large number of shepherds and cows will get regular income. He said that by improving the breed of animals, they can be made useable by giving more milk and full capacity in farming. Along with this, organic farming and fodder development programs will also gain momentum in Chhattisgarh, which will increase employment opportunities at the village level and the economy of the villages will be empowered.
Land will be selected for the establishment of Gaudham
Such government land, where safe fence, animal sheds, adequate water and electricity facilities are available, Gudham will be established. On the basis of availability, the land of the pasture adjacent to Gothan will be given for green fodder production on the basis of availability. Apart from this, if the committee of the surrounding Gaushala expresses disagreement for operations, then other voluntary organizations, NGOs, trusts, farmer producers company or cooperative society will be able to apply for operations.
Gaudham will be set up on the proposal of the district administration, which will be separated from the registered cowsheds. In the first phase, Gaudham will be established in rural areas around the major national highways of Chhattisgarh. The district level committee will send a comparative study of the applications received and will send the name of the selected institution to the Chhattisgarh State Gau Seva Commission. After the approval, there will be an agreement between the selected institution and the Commission, after which the operation of Gudham will be entrusted to that institution.
Fodder development will get encouragement
Dung will not be purchased in Gaudham, the shepherd will use animal cow dung itself. Here only destitute and nomadic cows will be kept and they will be protected and promoted by scientific method. Gaushalas will be given priority in operations. The committee registered in the Gaushala, voluntary organization, NGO, trust, farmer producing company and cooperative society will be eligible for operations. Gowdham will be given funds based on the number of animals living there. Financial assistance will also be provided for fodder development on the land adjacent to Gaudham. There is a provision of Rs 47,000 on fodder development program in one acre and Rs 2,85,000 for five acres.
Gaudham will become training center, cow products will get promotion
Each Gudham will also be developed as a training center. The governing committee or institution will train the villagers on the subject of cow-product and motivate them for cow-based farming. Along with this, Gaudham will also become a medium for the training, production and sale of earthworm manure, insect controller, gaugary, gonoil, diya, dental control, incense sticks etc. from cow dung and cow urine.
