Strange situation in Chhattisgarh Waqf Board… Shop fare is 80 paise, but it takes 2 rupees to deduct its receipt

An old saying “Income Athani, Kharna Rupaiya” on the position of Chhattisgarh State Waqf Board apply. The fare of a shop in Baijnath Para in the capital Raipur is only 80 paise, while the board has to deduct a receipt of two rupees for this fare.

The fare was increased in 1980 and since then the same fare has been going on for 45 years. Earlier this fare was 35 paise. About five thousand properties are registered across the state on the Waqf Board portal. 200 crore rupees should be received from these properties, but currently only five lakh rupees are being received.

The board has sent a notice twice to increase the fare, but there has been no response from the shopkeepers. If no answer is received even after the third notice, action will be taken to seal the shops.

The Chairman of the Board, Dr. Salim, said that there are about 700 shops in the state from Rs 100 to Rs 500. These include more than 200 shops in other areas including Tikrapara in Raipur. At the same time, the fare of 200 sq ft shops in the market ranges from 25,000 to 35,000.

First 23 thousand, now getting five lakh fare

Dr. Salim informed that a plan is being made to revise the rent of Waqf Board properties. Fare amendments have been made in some districts, increasing the income of the board. The Waqf Board was getting only Rs 23,000 for the fare of more than 70 shops in Bilaspur, but now this amount has increased to more than five lakhs.

The aim of the board is to help the needy people of the society, especially to bear the education and other expenses of children of weaker sections. He said that we are motivating the shopkeepers to adopt a child and bear the expenses of their education.

Only a few families occupied the property of the board

Some people are misusing it due to very low fare of board shops. Many people are making profits by renting their own shops as well as board shops. Dr. Salim said that the properties of the board are occupied by the families of Maulana, Maulvi and Multavis, due to which the board is not able to fulfill its objectives.

The focus on increasing the income of the board is being focused so that schools and hospitals can be constructed for the welfare of the society. -Dr. Salim Raj Chairman Chhattisgarh State Waqf Board
