The NIA Court on Saturday gave bail to both nuns on Saturday, on the bail plea of two nuns of Kerala. During the hearing on Friday, the police accused the two nuns of conspiracy for human trafficking and conversion, while the defense termed the allegations as baseless.
In fact, on 25 July, Bajrang Dal workers near Durg railway station stopped both nuns with three tribal women and a young man. During interrogation, the women said that they are going to work in the hospital in Agra. Despite this, the activists created a ruckus and accused of human trafficking and conversion. After this, Durg GRP took both nuns into custody and produced it in the court. The case was handed over to the NIA, which is now under investigation.
The nun’s bail plea was heard in the NIA court on Friday. While the prosecution opposed the bail, the defense said that the nun has cooperated in the investigation and there is no concrete evidence against them. The court reserved the verdict after hearing the arguments of both sides. On Saturday, the court gave bail to both nuns while giving its verdict.

Attempting to control damage in the case, Kerala BJP President and former Union Minister Rajiv Chandrashekhar met Archbishop Andrews Thazath, President of Catholic Bishops Conference of India. The Archbishop said that the church is distressed by this arrest, as one of these nuns had been serving leprosy patients for three decades.
He said that the issue has been transported to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah and assured of help. Four MPs from Kerala Kodikunnil Suresh, Anto Antony, Dean Kuriakosi and Hibi Eden met DGP Arundev Gautam on Friday.
