Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has given instructions to intensify relief and rescue operations while reviewing disaster management due to continuous heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh. On Wednesday, he reached the State Command Center at Home Guard Headquarters and reviewed the situation of all the affected districts and gave clear instructions to the officials that the security of public life is the top priority.
CM (MP) said that the rescue operation should be run with full readiness, there should be no shortage of any resources and every needy should get immediate relief. So far, more than 2900 people have been safely evacuated, and rescue work in all districts is going on at full capacity.
CM directly monitored relief work
The Chief Minister (MP) made live monitoring of the ongoing relief operations across the state and took feedback from the affected areas. He spoke to the collectors, police and rescue teams of the districts and ensured whether the flood affected citizens were evacuated. CM said that if needed, airlift will also be done by helicopter.
He also interacted directly with the flood victims and assured them that the government would compensate for their loss. Whether it is house, crop, goods or loss of cattle – all will be given proper compensation.
Helpers will get respect and award
The Chief Minister (MP) announced that the bravery and service citizens during the flood would be honored on other occasions including August 15. He also instructed the officials to make a list of such helpers.
Districts instructions to stay on high alert
The CM made special review of the situation in the districts of Gwalior, Bhopal, Sagar and Narmadapuram divisions (MP) in Guna, Shivpuri, Raisen, Damoh, Chhatarpur etc. According to the Meteorological Department alert, there is a possibility of very heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in many districts in the next 24 hours. The CM also asked the collectors to immediately take necessary decisions like school holidays, so that there is no accident.
Appeal to the people of CM – Be careful, be cautious
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav also appealed to the people of the state not to go to the river-drains or fast-flowing areas, avoid traffic on bridges and stay away from open electric wires during the rains. He said that people living in raw houses should take special precautions.
Active control room and monitoring mechanisms at every level
Flood control papers in the state (MP) and districts are continuously active. Preparations are being made in every district by coordinating between administration, army, police and voluntary organizations. The CM instructed the officials to ensure proper arrangements for food, water, medicine, clothes and housing for the flood victims.
