Sadhvi Pragya acquitted in Malegaon blast case
The decision of NIA’s Special Court has been revealed in the 2008 bomb blast case in Malegaon, Maharashtra. The court has acquitted all the accused for lack of evidence. The court gave the verdict and said that the bomb was exploded. However, the prosecution could not prove that the bomb was planted in the bike. Sadhvi Pragya was made the main accused in this case.
While hearing the verdict, Sadhvi Pragya became emotional after hearing the verdict. On the court’s decision, he said that this is not my victory but it has been the victory of Bhagwa. I was humiliated for 17 years. A monk was made a terrorist. This is the victory of Hindutva. My life became meaningful.
What was the proof against Sadhvi Pragya?
Against Sadhvi Pragya Thakur, the NIA told in the court that the bike was in her name, in which the blast was done outside the mosque. NIA said that a fake number plate was installed on this bike. Along with this, the chessage number and engine number were wiped out. NIA had described this vehicle as the biggest evidence against Pragya Thakur. This is the reason that he was made the main accused in the whole case.
NIA- Court could not prove the identity of the car
Regarding this entire matter, the NIA Special Court said in its judgment that the prosecution proved that there was a bomb blast. However, he could not prove that the bomb was planted in the car itself. Along with this, Judge AK Lahoti said in his judgment that the chassis number of the bike never recovered. Sadhvi Pragya was the owner of that bike, it could not be proved.
The biggest reason behind acquitting Pragya Thakur is not to identify the bike. The court also admitted that nothing happens only by saying. There should be concrete evidence to prove guilty.
The court said that it was said about the bomb that has been talked about in the bike that it was told by Colonel Prasad Purohit. This has also not been proved.
These people were made accused
Former BJP MPs Pragya, Colonel Prasad Purohit, Ramesh Upadhyay, Ajay Rahilkar, Sudhakar Chaturvedi, Sameer Kulkarni and Sudhakhar Dwivedi were made. The court has acquitted all these accused.
