Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) has signed a joint operation agreement to find oil and gas in the Saurashtra Basin with government oil company Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) and BP Exploration. The company gave this information on Tuesday.

For the first time, these three companies had bid for the first time to find and produce oil and gas in an area. The dialect was imposed in the 9th bidding process of the Open Acrease Licensing Policy (OAALP) last year for Block GS -SHP-2022/2.
The block is located in the Saurashtra Basin near the west coast, with a total area of 5,454 square kilometers. It is kept in the category-II basin. In this consortium, ONGC has been appointed as an operator and this group will do investigative activities to find and exploit the possibility of hydrocarbons (oil and gas) in the area.

The company said in its statement, “Reliance has entered into a joint operation for Block GS -SHP-2022/2 with ONGC and BP Exploration (BP). This block is located near the west coast in the Saurashtra Basin and it was requested to RIL, ONGC and BP under Hydrocarbon Exploration and License Policy.
