Security forces have got a big success in Bijapur district. Security forces killed 04 Maoists of South Sub Zonal Bureau in an encounter on Saturday evening in the border forests of Basaguda and Gangalur police station area in the south-west area of the district. Two women Naxalites were also included in them. A total reward of Rs 17 lakh was declared on the slain Maoists.
Confirming this action, Jitendra Yadav, Superintendent of Police of Bijapur said that on the basis of reliable information of Maoist activities, the DRG team started the search operation. Meanwhile, there was an encounter with the Maoist cadre, which continued till late evening.
Identification of Naxalites killed in encounter
The police have killed Hunga of platoon number 10 in this encounter. She was associated with ACM and a prize of ₹ 5 lakh was placed on her head. After this, another name is Lakkhe, it was also associated with ACM and used to watch platoon number 30. There was a reward of 5 lakh on Lakkhe. Bhim also saw ACM South Sub Zonal Bureau and it also had a reward of ₹ 5 lakh. Apart from these, Nihal alias Rahul has also been killed in the encounter. Nihal was a party member and a guard of Santosh (Bureau Communication Team Head) and had a reward of ₹ 2 lakh on his head too.
Recovered weapons and materials
Police from Naxalites to 03 magazine with a SLR and 15 live rounds, 03 magazine with an INSAS and 40 live rounds, 01 magazine with a .303 rifle and 16 live rounds, 03 nos of BGL Launcher (Surkha), 03 Nos Cell, A Single Shot 315 Bore Royal, A 12 Bore Royal, A 12 Bun Gun, AK-47 of 47 Round, 03 pieces of BGL cell (small) and a grenade have been recovered. Apart from weapons, Naxalite literature, everyday goods and huge quantities of explosives have also been found.
Inspector General of Police of Bastar Range Sundararaj P. said that this action is part of the strategic and intensive campaign of the security forces. Continuing the decisive lead in the year 2024, this is also an important step towards Naxal abolition in 2025.
The strategy of the soldiers is coming
IG informed that the bodies of 425 hardcore Maoists have been recovered from January 2024 to July 2025, which is the result of the strong strategy, adventure actions of the security forces. He specifically mentioned that despite the difficult monsoon weather, dense forests and inaccessible areas, the security forces are not encouraged. The soldiers are performing their duties with full dedication and responsibility.
