Ceasefire between Thailand and Cambodia
Thailand and Cambodia have announced ceasefire. In the meeting of face to face in Malaysia, both countries have said to stop unconditional fighting. Representatives of Cambodia and Thailand were meeting in Malaysia since Monday morning. The fight between the two countries was going on from 25 July.
Cambodia and Thailand are located in the neighborhood of China. There is a dispute between the two, due to which the two continue to clash on many occasions.
Malaysia’s Prime Minister Anwar has announced a ceasefire between the two countries. The Prime Minister has said that Thailand and Cambodia have agreed to immediately and unconditional ceasefire to end the border struggle that has been going on for several days.
Why was there a fight between the two?
Thailand and Cambodia have a limit of 900 km. A Shiva’s temple is situated on this border. Both Thailand and Cambodia claim this temple. On 25 July, Thailand alleged that Cambodia attacked her military bases.
16 people from Thailand were killed in this attack of Cambodia. Thailand then started attacking with F-16. More than 1 thousand people have to be displaced from the area in the battle of both.
Donald Trump took the initiative
US President Donald Trump while talking to reporters at the White House said that I have spoken to both countries. Both are keen on the ceasefire. Both are going to talk and soon this fight will end. Mark Rubio was also active in the whole matter.
Prior to Donald Trump, China had spoken of arbitration between the two countries, but Thailand rejected the arbitration proposal outright.
Donald Trump has also ceased in Iran and Israel. The war between the two countries began in June 2025. After 12 days, the US President stopped the war. Trump has also held partial ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine.
