Edible cup made of millet
Keeping in mind the environmental protection and health awareness, a student of Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University of Jabalpur has made a unique cup. Bharat Tomar, a resident of Guna, is studying MBA Agri-business management from Jawaharlal Nehru Agricultural University in Jabalpur. He (coarse grains) with millet flour has prepared such an edible cup i.e. edible cup which can be eaten after drinking tea. This cup can be used in many things from soup, tea, ice cream, green tea.
Student Bharat presented this idea before Dr. Moni Thomas, CEO of Jawahar R-Abi Agribusiness Incubation Center in Jabalpur, after which his work is being appreciated. Now this project is going to get a grant of four lakh rupees under the RKVy-Roftar scheme of the central government. This grant will be provided by the Ministry of Agriculture, so that the process of further product refinement, lab testing and certification will be started.
Such a cup made
This cup prepared by Bharat is made entirely of millet flour, using cassava powder and guar gum as a binding agent. Chocolate flavor has also been added to it to improve the taste. However, the cup that has been prepared right now is a prototype and the time and customer will be improved on the basis of feedback. Bharat said that after designing this cup, he has been built from Delhi.
Student Bharat said this
Bharat told in a conversation with TV9 India that this Edible Cup is not only full of nutrition, but it is also completely gluten-free, which is also safe for those who are allergic to wheat or gluten. Millet is a coarse grain that is a good source of protein, fiber and minerals. The increasing demand for this product will also give direct benefits to the farmers, which will encourage millet production. Also, people will also get rid of many types of diseases.
How much is the price?
Apart from this, this is also an important step towards environmental protection. Currently, plastic and paper cups are highly used, in which adding hot tea or coffee, harmful chemicals like microplastic and BPA Bisphenol-A can be found which can cause serious diseases like cancer. This cup made of Bajra of Bharat provides a solution to this problem. Bharat said that the cost of making a cup comes between about 1 to 2 rupees and its wholesale price will be 4-5 rupees. About 30 to 40 cups can be made from one kilogram of material. This cup can hold hot tea or coffee for 20-25 minutes.
Assistant in health protection
The purpose of Bharat, this product should be brought to the market on a large scale, so that the health of the environment as well as people can be protected. Through this unique innovation, they are also becoming the inspiration of startup for the youth. Bharat believes that the coming time is of millet -based products and if work is done in the right direction, India will not only move towards healthy options, but will also step firmly towards environmental balance. Also, women and youth will also get employment.
