In the last five years, 1099 people have died in aircraft accidents.
Air travel is becoming a period of people, 499 people have lost their lives in this journey, considered the safest. This year, in about 7 months, 499 people have died in a plane crash. On an average, every day more than 2 people are losing their lives in air travel. On Thursday, one more accident took place in Russia when the plane of Angara Airlines crashed, there were 49 passengers in it, all of them are expected to be killed.
Aerial accidents have increased in every country from India to Russia and Britain to America. This figure is increasing continuously in the last few years, many serious accidents have also happened. According to IATA i.e. International Air Traffic Association, the number of people who lost their lives in plane accidents from 2021 to July 24 is 1099, out of which 499 people have lost their lives this year. This is also intimidating that if we talk about last year, then in 12 months, 244 people lost their lives, but so far this year, the number of people who died in 7 months has reached nearly 500.
Ahmedabad plane crash was the biggest accident
The biggest accident of 2025 took place in Ahmedabad, where the plane was a victim of the accident only after the takeoff. The accident took place on 12 June. The flight was going from Ahmedabad to London, in which 240 people were riding, only one person could survive in the accident. Apart from this, there were a large number of deaths in the building from which the plane collided. A total of 260 people were confirmed to be killed in this accident. The accident was so severe that the remains of the dead bodies of those who died were left, in which DNA was handed over to their families.
Major accidents happened this year
- At the beginning of the year, American Airlines aircraft collided with a helicopter of the US Army near Washington. 67 people died in this accident on 29 January. These included three crew members in the helicopter.
- On the same day, a charter plane flying in the African country of Sudan, shortly after flying, fell victim to the accident, in which 21 people were riding, 20 people died in the accident.
- Another accident occurred in the US on January 30, where an air ambulance accident in Philadelphia was a victim of accident. 8 people died in this accident.
- On the 7th of February, Bering Air Flight went missing in Alaska, 10 people were riding in the aircraft, all of which were killed, later the aircraft was found.
- In Honduras, a charter aircraft was a victim of an accident in the sea, the aircraft had gone to the runway brake. 13 people were killed in the accident, a total of 18 people were riding in the aircraft. The debris of this aircraft was found about 1 km inside the sea.
- On April 10, a helicopter was a victim of a helicopter accident in New Jersey city of America, he fell into the Hudson River. 5 passengers died in the accident.
- On 3 May, Sudan’s army killed a cargo Boeing 737-290 C in Nyala city. It is suspected that the aircraft was carrying Weapon for the rebel rapid support forces involved in the civil war. 20 people were killed in the accident.
- On May 22, an army plane fell victim to the accident in San Diego, USA, 6 people were killed in it.
On July 13, the charter fell victim to a plane accident only after taking off from an airport at Essex, UK, in which 4 people died. - On July 21, the fighter jet of the Air Force in Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka was a victim of the accident. The aircraft hit a building in a college campus, in which 29 people died.
