Honda is going to stir in India’s two -wheeler market once again. The company is now preparing to introduce its most popular computer bike Shine 100 in electric avatar. This bike will not only be economical, but will also be strong in terms of technology and trust.
Honda Shine 100 Electric: More Technology at Low Price
Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) is about to make a new explosion in India’s budget two-wheeler segment. The company is preparing to launch an electric version of its most successful bike Shine 100. It has become clear from the recently revealed patent photos that Honda is working on a completely new, but inexpensive electric bike.
This bike is being made especially keeping in mind those who cannot buy expensive electric bikes, but want to adopt EV technology.
The magic of the motor instead of the engine
Honda has removed the Shine 100 petrol engine and fit the electric motor at the same place. The interesting thing is that the bike frame, chassis and most of the external design are kept as Shine 100. This also reduces production costs and users get new technology experience in a well-known design.
Battery Setup: Dual Swapable Battery Pack
Two small swapable batteries will be given in this bike, which can be easily changed when needed. These batteries will be similar to the Honda Activa Electric, each of which will weigh about 10.2 kg.
The batteries in the bike will be fitted on both sides in such a way that the airflow in the middle will not cause overheating. This system will help increase battery age and ensure safety.
Electric Control Unit (ECU) will also be involved
The new Shine 100 Electric will be given an Electronic Control Unit (ECU), which will control information related to the entire motor, battery, braking and range. The ECU will be fitted in the central part of the bike, which will make the balance and security better.
What do patent photos say?
The patent image suggests that this electric bike has been manufactured at the same layout, as in the Shine 100 petrol engine. The batteries are placed on the same angle, where the first fuel tank and engine used to be. This will not make much change in the bike ride experience, which is especially necessary for consumers of rural and small cities.
Launch Timeline: How long can the market come?
Honda has not yet given any official launch date, but looking at the reports and patent status, it is estimated that this bike may be launched by the early months of 2026. The special thing is that Honda will not have to create a new model for this, but this bike can be made only by making a little change in the existing platform of Shine 100.
No charging, battery swapping will talk
Honda is already preparing a battery swap network for its scooter Activa Electric. Shine 100 will support 100 electrics. This means that the user will not have to wait for long charging. Just go to the battery swap station, give the old battery and take it new.
This will prove to be extremely useful for delivery boys, commuters rider and users living in small towns.
Why is Honda Shine 100 Electric?
- Electric motor instead of petrol engine
- Two Swapable Battery Pack
- ECU based smart electric control
- Honda’s trusted platform and design
- Airflow system to protect against battery overheating
- Charging tension ends from Honda’s swap station
Shine’s trust, advantage of electric
Honda Shine 100 has been one of India’s most trusted computer bikes. Its electric version will give customers the same trust, easy maintenance and better riding experience at a cheaper price.
The purpose of this new bike is to spread the electric vehicle to the common people. This can prove to be an ideal especially for those users who cover a limited distance daily and want a trusted vehicle at a low cost.
