In a statement released late Saturday night, the organizers made it clear that continuing this match could have hurt the feelings of many people. This is why it was decided to cancel it.

Indian legendary players disagreeed

There was a protest against this match from the beginning. Many Indian cricket giants like Harbhajan Singh, Shikhar Dhawan, Suresh Raina and Yusuf Pathan had separated themselves from this match. In a statement issued by Shikhar Dhawan, it was clearly stated that he would not take part against Pakistan in any match given the current political situation.

WCL expressed regret

  • The statement issued by the WCL said that we had decided this match for the purpose of giving a moment of happiness for the fans. Seeing the recent volleyball and hockey matches between India and Pakistan, we felt that such a step could be taken in cricket.
  • Perhaps we missed the feelings of people. We unknowingly made the cricket giants who have earned respect for the country. For this reason, we have decided to cancel this match.
