The city of Indore is moving rapidly towards becoming Green City. Every day 1250 tonnes of wet and dry waste is produced in the city, but in the last three years Indore has succeeded in reducing 250 tonnes of drought waste. The Indore Municipal Corporation has planned to work on a model of water and energy with waste in the roadmap to become its green city.
The city of Indore is now preparing to become a Green City. In the round table conference held after the Clean Survey honor ceremony in Delhi, the Indore Corporation described the future roadmap of the future of its Green City. It will work on water and energy models with garbage. Indore is already trying to reduce the growing waste due to the expansion of the city at the geographical level, the city’s constantly growing population.
Every day 1250 tonnes of wet and dry waste is produced in Indore. In the last three years, Indore reduced 250 tonnes of drought waste. In three years, 19 grams per capita waste was reduced daily. At the same time, in the next one year, Indore Municipal Corporation is going on a target of reducing waste daily 21 to 22 grams per person. In this way, Indore is preparing to reduce 50 tons of additional waste in the next one year in addition to 250 tonnes.
190 tons of wet waste stopped going to trenching ground in three years
In the last three years, 190 tonnes of garbage from the city houses and establishments were prevented from reaching the trenching ground. For this, special support was received from people of 56 thousand houses in Indore. In these houses, manure is being made from wet waste in the houses through home composting unit. In the same city gardens, green waste is being settled in the garden complex through pit composting, organic waste water and drum compost.
287 institutions reduced 30 tonnes per day
There are 287 institutions in the city that provide more than 30 kg of garbage per day. Such institutions have hotels, marriage gardens, educational institutions. These institutions installed undertaking wet waste fertilizer and set up a unit of sorting dried waste. As a result, 30 tonnes of garbage was reduced to the Municipal Corporation daily.
In this way waste transportation is reduced
Mobile composting van: Through four vehicles, eight to nine tons of wet waste is being collected and manure is being made from it.
BiosyNG Plant: Gas is being made from 35 tonnes of waste at the biosenG plant in Kabitkheri and Choithram Mandi. This waste is ending in the city.
Future preparation for increasing waste control
Currently, a plant of composting from 550 tonnes of wet waste has been installed on the trenching ground. Its capacity is planned to increase to 800 tonnes per day. In this way it will become the world’s largest bio CNG plant.
These efforts are also being made for Green Indore
- Indore Municipal Corporation is making separate efforts to reduce the level of air quality of the city from 50.
- Under the Solar Mitra Yojana, plans to set up power to build electricity from solar panels in 100 percent houses of the city in the next three years. At present, more than one crore power units were saved in a month.
- Rain water harvesting systems were installed in 1 lakh 70 thousand houses. Plan to install six lakh houses in the next three years.
- Green areas are increasing. City Forests have been developed at six places in the city. Special plants will be planted in the city to reduce air pollution.
Will make Indore a green city
The Indore Corporation is continuously working to make Green Indore. Will make Indore a green city in future. We made efforts to reduce the city waste, which has achieved considerable success. This success has also been achieved by creating a Home Composting Unit, RRR center and banning single use plastic and disposable.
