Amarnath traveler trapped in heavy rains and landslides, army handled the front, rescued 500 devotees

Army personnel engaged in saving passengers trapped in Amarnath Yatra.

The Amarnath Yatra has once again been interrupted due to continuous heavy rains and landslides in the upper areas of Jammu and Kashmir. On Tuesday evening at around 7:15 pm on July 16, there was a huge landslide in the Z. Mor area located between Rialpathri and Brariimarg, blocking the journey route and hundreds of pilgrims got trapped on the way.

In the midst of this crisis, the Indian Army immediately took the front and started relief work. Army troops deployed in Briimarg reacted rapidly and gave shelter of about 500 trapped passengers in safe tents and provided them tea, drinking water and necessary primary facilities.

In addition, about 3000 pilgrims were provided with food and safe place in the langars installed between Brariimarg and Jade Fold. These human efforts made by the army are being highly appreciated among the pilgrims.

Army rescues sick Amarnath traveler

During this period, a special challenging situation came to light when a sick passenger got trapped between two landslide-prone areas in the royalpathri. Seeing the seriousness of the situation, the Army’s quick response team (QRT) took the risk and took out the passenger safely through human stretcher and brought the base of the Rayalpathpari, from where he was sent by ambulance for further medical help,

The Briimarg Camp Director and the Company Commander of the Army are present on the spot and monitor the situation. He has informed that the situation is now under control and the army is fully cautious to ensure the safety and health of all pilgrims.

Army’s help continues amid rain

According to the army, light rain continues in the Royalpathri and Briimarg regions at the moment and the weather situation is being closely monitored. High alert has been declared in the area so that action can be taken immediately in any emergency.

This quick, skilled and human reaction of the army during the Amarnath Yatra 2025 is once again a proof of its professionalism and service. Like every year, this time too, the army is seen standing shoulder to shoulder with the passengers in every challenge.
