The focus on the second day of Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav’s visit to Spain was of investment dialogue with veterans of global textile and fashion sector. In a meeting held at the Industax headquarters in Galisia, Spain, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav presented Madhya Pradesh as Green, Cost-Commendation and Tresable Production Hub. In the meeting, there was a detailed discussion on business partnership and possibilities of continuous investment with senior officials of Inditex Group.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Madhya Pradesh government is fully committed to global partnerships in the textile sector. The presence of iconic brands like Indrtex will give impetus to economic development, employment generation and green production in the state. We are ready to support this partnership at all levels.
Ideal place for textile sector
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that Madhya Pradesh is one of the top raw cotton producing states of the country, where about 18 lakh bails (3 lakh metric tonnes) are produced annually. There are more than 15 textile clusters in the state, centers like Indore, Mandsaur, Burhanpur, Ujjain, Neemuch are leading in textile production.
PM Mitra Park: Industax opportunity
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the Textile Mega Park being developed under the PM Mitra Yojana of the Government of India in Dhar district can become an ideal center of sustainable and integrated manufacturing for global brands like Industax. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav proposed to set up a garment unit in this park.
Call for participation in organic cotton
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that Madhya Pradesh is India’s leading organic cotton producer. Cotton is produced in abundance in the state, especially in Nimar and Malwa regions. Here Gots- Certified farmer groups are active, which can be an ideal partner for the sustainability and traceability policies of the inditax. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav suggested to work closely with the Inditex on the Farmer-to-Fabric Value Chain.
Mail in ESG Framework
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav informed that Madhya Pradesh Government (ESG) (Environment, Social, Governance) promotes values. Water recycling, waste management and decent work standards are applicable in the state. Madhya Pradesh’s vision fully matches the Industax’s responsible sourcing policy.
Export and global possibilities
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the annual export of textile and garment from the state is more than Rs 7 thousand crore, of which the European Union is head. He said that this figure can reach Rs 10,000 crore with a brand partnership like Indrtex, which will also strengthen local employment and women empowerment.
Policy support and logistic facility
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav shared the characteristics of the state’s new industrial and export policy 2025, including 90% subsidy on land, 40% capital assistance on machinery, 50% assistance on green technology and interest subsidy on loan etc.
Indotex invitation to partnership
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav invited the Inditex to participate as a supply chain anchor in PM Mitra Park. He also suggested to start a vendor development program with an organic cotton tracing platform and ESG certified MSME.
