President Draupadi Murmu providing Swachh Survekshan Award
President Draupadi Murmu awarded the Cleanliness Survey 2024-25 Awards to eight cities along with Madhya Pradesh including Indore. During this, Union Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar and Minister of State Tokhan Sahu were also present. Urban Development and Housing Minister of Madhya Pradesh Kailash Vijayvargiya and Minister of State Pratima Bagri received the award on behalf of the state at a ceremony held at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi. Mayor and corporation officials of rewarded cities were present on the occasion.
Indore was once again awarded the best city in the Clean League Award in a category with more than 10 lakh population. In this category, Ujjain received the best city award in the category of cities with 3 to 10 lakh population. Budhni was the best among cities with population less than 20 thousand in the category of cities.
Clean city award to Bhopal too
The capital Bhopal has received the second prize of clean city in the category of more than 10 lakh population. In this category, in cities with 50 thousand to 3 lakh population, Dewas has received first prize and Shahganj has received third prize in cities with less than 20 thousand population. Similarly, Jabalpur has been rewarded in the category of Safai Mitra safe city and Gwalior was rewarded with Promising Clean city.
Other cities also waved
In the Swachh Survekshan-2024-25, Bhopal has ranked second, Jabalpur 5th and Gwalior 14th in 14th. 203 cities of the state received star rating certification, in which 12% more cities from 157 cities of the last year received star rating. In the survey, Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur have got 7 stars, Dewas, Rewa and Satna got 5 star rank. 36 cities of the state have got 3 stars and 161 cities have got one star rank.
Urban Administration and Development Commissioner Sanket Bhondway described the best performance in the case of cleanliness of the cities of the state as the fruit of the hard work of the cleaning friends. He said that efforts will be made to give the highest position to all the urban areas of the state on the criteria of cleanliness.
