The water crisis in Britain is becoming serious.

Drought has been officially announced in the West and East Midlands areas of Britain. Due to record heat and very low rainfall in the country, water crisis is becoming serious. The government has indicated that if the situation does not improve soon, then more strict steps can be taken regarding the supply of water.

Minister of State for Water and Flood Affairs Emma Hardy has said that we are a responsible government and are taking necessary steps to deal with the situation with full seriously. He said that the government is monitoring the situation at every level and the public is also appealing for cooperation.

The environment agency says that the water flow was the lowest after 1976 in some rivers of Midlands. At the same time, the country received 20% less rainfall than average in June and it was also the hottest June. The level of reservoirs in England is continuously falling. Right now it is 75.6% on an average, while in Yorkshire it has reached just 53.8%. The National Drot Group, which includes environment agency, meteorological department, government and water companies, has warned that even more stringent restrictions can be imposed if there is not enough rain soon. Experts say that the public will have to come forward for proper use of water, otherwise the situation may worsen.
