There is no shortage of chemical fertilizers in the state. All types of chemical fertilizers for Kharif season 2025 are available in sufficient quantity in cooperatives and private sales centers. In view of the decrease in import of DAP fertilizer due to the global situation, the state government has ensured a lot of supply and distribution of other chemical fertilizers as an alternative.
Keeping in mind that farmers do not face any kind of problem due to lack of DAP supply in the state, the state government has stored an additional storage of 179000 bottle Nano DAP, NPK fertilizer 25 thousand metric tons more than the target and 50 thousand metric tons from the prescribed target of SSP. So far, more than 77 thousand metric tons of potash has been stored against the set target of 60 thousand metric tons. Nano DAP which is useful for spraying in standing crop after seed/trees, root treatment and sowing/transplanting as an alternative to solid DAP. Continuous supply of Nano DAP has been ensured by the government in the state.
So far, more than 1 lakh 63 metric tonnes have been stored against the target of 3.10 lakh metric tons of DAP fertilizer for the current kharif season. The supply of DAP continues continuously. Currently, in the month of July, 48 thousand metric tonnes of DAP fertilizer will be supplied to the state. Fertilizers in the cooperative sector of the state have been stored on priority basis. The availability of DAP fertilizer in the state’s cooperative sector is 62 percent of the total availability of the state.
According to the information received from the Agriculture Department, a total of 13.18 lakh metric tonnes have been stored so far, which is about 38 thousand metric tonnes more than 12.79 lakh metric tonnes stored during the same period last year. This year, 25,266 metric tonnes and 71,363 metric tons have been stored from the targeted quantity of NPK and SSP, which are being used as an alternative to DAP. Urea has stored 6 lakh metric tons more in the state. The remaining quantity of urea will be supplied in July and next month.
It is noteworthy here that urea is used three times in paddy. For the first time in the time of sowing/transplanting, the second time in the time of getting into the timing, three to four weeks after sowing/transplanting and 7 to 8 weeks after sowing/transplanting in Gabhot state, thus urea is thus used by the middle of September. DAP fertilizer has a storage of 1.63 lakh metric tonnes. According to the supply plan of the month of July, the state will get 48 thousand 850 metric tons of DAP.
According to the information received from the Agriculture Department, the supply of 25 thousand tonnes of NPK is likely in the month of July. The total additional NPK will be 50 thousand 266 metric tons to 22 thousand metric tonne DAP reimbursement, including additional supply of NPK. Similarly, the total additional supply of SSP will be reimbursed by 1.47 lakh metric tons to 50 thousand metric tons DAP. Thus, the additional supply of NPK and SSP in the state will ensure reimbursement of 72 thousand metric tons DAP.
Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has said that farmers do not have to worry about shortage of DAP fertilizer. As an alternative, the Government of Chhattisgarh has ensured plenty of arrangements for other chemical fertilizers like Nano DAP, NPK and SSP. According to the suggestion of agricultural scientists of Indira Agricultural University and officials of the Department of Agriculture, farmers can get better production by using the above fertilizers in exchange for DAP. Adequate storage of fertilizer seeds has been given to farmers from societies as per their demand.
