In Chhattisgarh, a very good news has been brought for small traders. Explain that the state government has taken a big step to encourage small traders and make their business easier. In which it has been decided to abolish VAT liabilities up to 25 thousand rupees older than 10 years old. With this decision, more than 40 thousand traders of the state will get direct benefit. Also, the burden of more than 62 thousand pending cases will also be reduced.
Two important Bills have been approved in the meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. First, Chhattisgarh Goods and Services Tax Amendment Bill is 2025 and second, Chhattisgarh outstanding tax, interest and settlement settlement amendment bill is 2025. Both these bills will be introduced in the monsoon session of the assembly. With their implementation, small traders will get convenience in business and will promote the Ease of Doing Business.
Amendment of GST will make business easier
Explain that the Council of Ministers has also cleared many changes in GST provisions. Based on the decisions of the 55th meeting of the GST Council, the input service distributors will now be able to distribute the reverse charge mechanism (RCM) of IGST in their branch office. This will remove the discrepancies present in GST rules and will ease traders in business.
Government ends time of supply
Apart from this, in cases which do not include tax demand, the first 20 percent deposit requirement for appeal has been reduced to 10 percent. This step is a relief for traders. Also, the provision of time of supply has been removed by cleaning the rules of taxability on the voucher. This will eliminate the situation of differences in various authorities and will bring uniformity in the GST system.
Government’s attempt to promote special economic sectors
The government has implemented trace and track mechanism for demerit goods like tobacco. With this, the entire supply chain from construction to the last consumer can be monitored. Apart from this, it has been decided to keep the purchase and sale of items kept in the Special Economic Areas (SEZ) out of the purview of GST. This will promote transactions without physical movement and will encourage the SEZ.
