Nepal, a country with 82 percent Hindu, has made public the national population policy. Under this, Nepal has implemented a policy to produce 3 children. This announcement has been made by Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli himself. According to Oli, if it is not implemented, then further crisis will increase further.
According to government data, Nepal currently has a population of 2.97 crores. Nepal is a Hindu -dominated country in South Asia located in the neighborhood of India and China.
What has PM Oli said about the population?
1. Speaking at a program on Population Day, Prime Minister Oli said that we first called for a child to have a child, which people misunderstood. Now people neither want to get married nor have a child. In such a situation, the development of the country will stop.
2. Oli said that now 20 years have been made a minimum age. I want to tell the youth of the country to marry for 20 to 30 years. Keep the wedding age maximum 30. If you are doing more than this, then it will be wrong.
3. According to Kantipur news, Oli said that our government has implemented a policy of 3 children. You guys implement it. Only youth can increase any country. He further said that we are going to enact strict laws on this soon.
4.Prime Minister Oli said that birth is more important for human civilization. If civilization is to be saved, then it needs to pay attention to it.
Why is the Nepal government worried about birth?
The population of Nepal may be around 3 crores, but the government there is worried about the birth rate. Nepal has recorded a terrible decline in birth rate. Nepal’s birth rate was 19.64 in 2022, which reduced to 17 in 2025.
Similarly, Nepal’s fertility rate has been reduced to less than 2. According to Statista, Nepal’s fertility rate was 2.36 in 2013, which was reduced to 1.98 in 2023. It is being said to reach around 1.8 in 2025. This is the reason why the government of Nepal is upset.
