In Madhya Pradesh, the state government has now come into action mode amid a ruckus over the poor design of bridges and incomplete construction processes. The Public Works Department (PWD) has ordered a comprehensive inquiry into the bridges across the state. A report has been sought from every district and a committee of experts is also being constituted for investigation.
PWD Minister Rakesh Singh has said that now negligence and wrong engineering will not be tolerated under any circumstances. They said that
Wherever there is a mistake in design or construction is incomplete, action will be taken there. The minister also told that action has started on engineers. In the Aishbagh Bridge case, 7 officers have fallen.
Expert Committee being constituted
Minister Rakesh Singh said that Aishbagh Bridge is not 90 degrees but 114 degrees. All the essential safety marsers are present in the bridge, which should be in a good bridge. It should have a 15 -meter turning radius while it has 20 meters. He said that the report of all the under construction bridges of the state has been sought. Along with this, an expert committee is also being constituted so that if any such thing comes anywhere in future, it can be tested.

At the same time, the Congress has made serious allegations of corruption on the government and said that now the government is pretending to investigate under compulsion. Congress leader
Sajjan Singh Verma says that not a bridge but a monument of corruption in Madhya Pradesh. He said that when the public surrounded the government, then it opened its low and now it is being pretended to investigate the bridges.
After all, why is the investigation of bridges necessary?. In fact, recently there have been cases of negligence in the designing of bridges, due to which the state government is constantly being questioned.
Latest example of negligence in design
Aishbagh Bridge of Bhopal- This bridge with a sharp twist of 90 degree has been trolled on social media. Due to the possibility of becoming an accidental zone, it is now under question.
Z-Size Bridge of Indore-This bridge also has two or two turns of 90 degrees. Due to which there is a lot of resentment among people about traffic safety.
Subhash Nagar flyover (Bhopal)- Serpar design, made without divider, now after accidents, there are reforms on the bridge. Speed breakers are being installed in it.
Increasing concern of old and shabby bridges
The 100+ bridges are from the British time, which are now weakened.
The bridge of Sukhatwa of Narmadapuram has already fallen.
The bridge of Khandwa, which has been declared dangerous by both NHAI and MPRDC, is still passing on it.
Incomplete and careless construction work
The 6 crore bridge in Narsinghpur has been incomplete for 7 years.
In many places, the contractors stopped work or used inferior material.
