The state of Ministry of Mines, Government of India, New Delhi has been awarded the state of Chhattisgarh at the national level for notable works under the District Mineral Institute Trust (DMF). During the one -day ‘National DMF Workshop’ held at the Scope Convention Center in New Delhi today, Union Minister of Coal and Mines Kishan Reddy honored the Chief Minister’s Secretary and Mineral Secretary P. Dayanand with a citation.
The Ministry of Mines New Delhi is maintaining a database related to DMF of all states in the National DMF portal by Pradhan Mantri Mineral Area Welfare Scheme. The state DMF portal and National DMF portal of DMF Audit Report was awarded a citation to the state of Chhattisgarh after the 90 percent database was fully uploaded. In the workshop, Chhattisgarh’s efforts were presented as a model state and other states were also advised to follow data uploading, transparency and ground implementation.
It is violated that the National DMF workshop was organized with the aim of increasing the effectiveness of Pradhan Mantri Mineral Area Kalyan Yojana and DMF and promoting sustainable and inclusive development in mining sectors. Secretaries, Director and Collectors of Mining affected districts from various states of the country participated in the program.
It is noteworthy that continuous work is being done by the Government of Chhattisgarh for inclusive development in various fields like education, health, drinking water, infrastructure and livelihood in mining affected areas through DMF. So far, 1,01,313 development works have been approved in the state at a cost of Rs 16,506 crore, out of which 70,318 works have been successfully completed.
Adopting a transparent and public attitude in the implementation of DMF by the state government, the plan and monitoring of works are being ensured in each district to suit local needs. This policy targets not only physical development but also social empowerment.
The workshop was attended by Chhattisgarh, Secretary, Mineral Instrument Department P. Dayanand, Director Rajat Bansal along with Balod, Balodabazar-Bhatapara, Korba, Raigad and Dantewada districts and Nodal officers of DMF.
