A statement by former Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief Arvind Kejriwal remains a topic of discussion in political circles these days. Kejriwal has claimed that despite repeated obstacles by the Center appointed by the Center, he did development work in Delhi and because of this he should get “Nobel Prize”.
Kejriwal was speaking at an event held in Mohali on Tuesday. The event was held on the occasion of the release of the Punjabi version of party leader Jasmine Shah’s book Kejriwal model. From this platform, Kejriwal made this comment, referring to the achievements of his tenure in Delhi.
Nobel Prize should be available for governance and administration
Kejriwal said, “As long as we had our government in Delhi, there were constant obstacles from the Center, especially from the Lieutenant Governor, but in spite of this we did not stop working. I think I should get the Nobel Prize for Governance and Administration, because we did so much despite LG and so many problems.”
In his address, Kejriwal also took a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). He said, “The BJP neither wants to work itself nor wants to let anyone else work. He said that many world -class works like improvement in government schools, hospitals have been done in Delhi.
BJP tightens Kejriwal
A sharp response from the BJP has come to light on this statement of Kejriwal. Delhi’s BJP leader and current Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had already accused the AAP government of “spreading false promises and confusion”. Now on Kejriwal’s Nobel Prize statement, BJP leader Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “We will pass a resolution in the Delhi Assembly that the way Arvind Kejriwal scams the liquor and gave a free with a bottle, he should also get the Nobel Prize.”
Arvind Kejriwal is paying more attention to Punjab in recent times, where the Aam Aadmi Party government has been in power since 2022 under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. This activism of Kejriwal is also being linked to the preparation of the 2027 elections.
