After sowing of kharif crops in the district, now farmers are needing urea for maize crop, but urea is not available in societies at this time. At the same time, nano urea and DAP are also forcibly offering urea at private shops, which the farmer does not want.

The dam of farmers’ troubles in Ladkui village of Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh finally broke on Tuesday. Angry farmers made an angry farmers on Bhairunda-Sehore road due to shortage of urea fertilizer and selling fertilizer at expensive prices.

Farmers say that urea is necessary for the growth of the crop after maize sowing in the kharif season, but urea is not available in the society, and private shops are taking advantage of compulsion.

Government Rate Rs 267, Rs 350-400 being recovered

Farmers allege that thousands of sacks of urea have been illegally stored at a shop called Jain Krishi Seva Kendra. The shopkeeper is charging 350 to 400 rupees per sack, while the government price is only 267 rupees.

Not only this, when farmers arrive to take urea, shopkeepers forcibly give a sack DAP and nano urea, which the farmer does not want to take.

Agriculture department accused of collusion

The protesting farmers alleged that the Agriculture Department investigated, but no report was made public. It is clear that black marketing of manure is taking place with the connivance of the department and private shopkeepers. The farmers have warned that if the solution is not found soon, there will be a big agitation.

The farmers have demanded from the administration that-

  • Urea should be supplied as soon as possible in the society.
  • Action should be taken after examining private shops.
  • The imperative of DAP and nano urea should be eliminated.
  • Licenses of guilty shopkeepers should be revoked.
  • If steps are not taken on time, farmers will perform at the district headquarters.
