Pakistan is afraid of recognizing the Taliban…

Four years ago, there was a wave of happiness in Pakistan after the Taliban was captured by Kabul and many of its leaders claimed to have a brother relationship with the Taliban. But in the last few years, distance between Taliban and Pakistan has arisen and now Pakistan is afraid to recognize the Taliban. Pakistan officials have said that it is in no hurry to recognize the Afghan Taliban government and any decision will be taken keeping in mind the interest of the country.

After officially recognizing the Taliban rule by Russia, everyone was eyeing Pakistan, that Pakistan can also take such a step soon. Some experts believe that Moscow’s decision will prove to be a vision by other regional countries to adopt the Taliban.

However, Pakistan officials told The Express Tribune newspaper that Russia’s decision was not surprising, as Moscow had indicated some time ago that they would accept the fact that the Taliban is now in power and there is no other option but to accept their rule.

Why is Pakistan not giving recognition?

After the Taliban came to power, Pakistan has accused the Taliban rule that it has sheltered Pakistan’s terrorist organization TTP on its land. However, the Taliban has denied these things. At the same time, the Government of Pakistan is sending back the misfortunes of the Afghan community living in Pakistan, which many parties are considering inhuman. Since these incidents, the Taliban and Pakistan relationships have deteriorated recently.

Apart from this, Pakistan is given help from countries like America with many international communities like IMF. In such a situation, recognizing the Taliban can cause harm on its international platform.

Russia’s move will affect

This decision of Russia has also been taken from the fact that the association with the Taliban government will help in dealing with terrorist threat and furthering its geographical interests. When a Pakistani official was asked if Islamabad would recognize the Taliban rule, he said, “We will definitely decide keeping our interests in mind. I can tell you that there is no hasty in this.”

However, a source did not deny the possibility that Pakistan can adopt a more practical approach if other regional countries follow the footsteps of Russia.
